Charlotte noticed that there was a challenge set up for Women and Children of Domestic Abuse. Thinking about how hard times can be just settling into the new ‘normal’ how much harder it could possibly be for those living in fear in their own homes, their own places of safety.
'I was onboard and happy to give this challenge a go! I set up a Go Fund Me account and got moving!
Day 1 - Got my favourite jams pumping and got to it…. 100 down in 5 sets of 20
Day 4 – Awoke feeling a little stiff but better than I expected. Another 100 down in 4 sets of 25
Day 7 – Week one down, 700 squats ticked off and £30 raised so far. Legs are a little wobbly now. 2 sets of 50 (on average!)
Day 14 – Week two done! My t-shirt and fundraising pack arrived in the post. An update from the team advise they were a little late due to only expecting 300 participants and receiving over 1,500. I Couldn’t believe it and the amazing Facebook support groups doing exactly what the group was designed for supporting and cheering each other on. The packs have now ran out! £50 raised. 2 sets 60 then another 60 (feeling confident)
Day 21 – Week three complete. Have now stopped walking like a duck! Although, I can see the benefits to my terrible posture and other areas….. £70 raised. 2 sets of 70.
I am due to complete this challenge on April 30th if you would like to donate to this amazing charity please see the link to my Go Fund Me account.'
