David Edwards, Managing Director. All of a sudden it seems Christmas is starting! With still 5 weeks to go the first mince pies were served up in our office today. It doesn’t look good for the team’s diet!
As a result of the slight interest rate hike it has made the market a little quieter as people reflect on what they now wish to do with their home, shall we move now or later and maybe see what 2018 brings. We suspect most people won’t make a decision until the New Year. Rentals however, still seem to be very buoyant and several applicants have registered this week and several lettings have taken place.
We suspect there will be a short term market blip, but then the market should gain momentum as soon as January starts. With this in mind we are recommending that people thinking of selling to look into this now and have the property ready to market over the Christmas period. Rightmove report that there is a sudden surge of internet traffic with people seeking property on Boxing Day onwards, one of the busiest times for Rightmove!
